SURPRISE!

Sooooo do you guys have a direct line to “the big guy” or something? Because your recent prayers for us have not only been heard, THEY’VE BEEN ANSWERED! Just yesterday, we finally received an offer on the house.. Glory, Hallelujah! So, it was a busy morning talking through our options and coming up with a counter offer. Meanwhile, another couple took a look this morning and liked it too! We informed them that we already had an offer on the house, so if they wanted to take action, they should do it soon. Well, apparently it wasn’t soon enough because the first couple accepted our counter offer before the second couple submitted theirs.

So to recap — TWO offers on the house. One ACCEPTED purchase agreement. This means our house is SOLD!!!

When it rains, it pours, huh? I’m not sure if it was the fact that we just lowered the price OR that I asked for your prayers OR that the timing was right, but I’m amazed at how everything worked out. The best part about all of this? The buyers are closing on their current house too, so they need to move fairly quickly — just like us!! We’re closing November 2, which means we won’t have to make a double mortgage payment. 🙂 God is good!

We’re just glad we can get back to actual living in our Avon house for this last month and not have to worry about last-minute showings all the time. I was so excited about that fact, I got back out all our personal photos again and put them out tonight (we had to hide them while the house was on the market so potential buyers could view themselves in the home and not feel like it belonged to someone else). This also means we can relax a bit and not clean like crazy all the time. Woo hoo!

I had quite a few surprises this week — another one being a surprise shower at work hosted by my fabulous friends and teammates. You wouldn’t believe what they put together — it was a “3 Little Pigs” themed shower (is that not the cutest triplet shower idea ever?) with diapers and gift cards as primary gifts — everything a second-time mom needs! The room was decorated with pink streamers and little piggies everywhere — on the cupcakes, in the wrapping, and on the children’s books called Olivia the pig. The coolest surprise of all? Greg, Hannah, my Mom, and my sister Lindsay were all there too!! Needless to say, I was stunned and overjoyed.

I’m at a loss for words when it comes to things like this because I feel like the standard “thank you” just doesn’t convey my true appreciation. Right now is an EXTREMELY busy time for my department at work because we’re gearing up for our annual user conference (imagine your company’s very own Superbowl if you will….) and the fact that people took time out to not only plan this, but attend it means a lot. It’s not usually customary to throw a shower for a second pregnancy because you typically always have everything you need from the first baby. But my co-workers saw our unique need and generously came together to help us feel prepared. I can’t thank you enough, guys!!

Luckily, there are no surprises with the babies right now. Just “keepin’ on keepin’ on” and trying to rest up. Per my doctor, I’ll be phasing out my work schedule so I can begin to work from home full-time. (What a blessing to have a job that allows me to do that!) After our big conference is over in a couple weeks, I’ll be making the full transition and saying goodbye to my deskmates for awhile. I don’t consider this “bed rest” or anything because Doc hasn’t said I need to be in bed at all times per se, he just wants me to take it easy and not have to get ready for work or fight traffic to make it downtown every day. I do agree with him — it can be a real strain doing that every day and hauling in my big computer and numerous bags. I suppose a better term for my upcoming schedule would be “house arrest.” 🙂 hehe

Lots going on right now, but it seems we’re making HUGE progress on our “master checklist.” We’re closing in on the babies’ arrival, but we’re feeling more and more prepared every day. Many thanks again for your prayers, support, and faithfulness. What would I do without you guys??
